East Kilbride FC have appointed their former kitman as their interim manager after Kevin Rutkiewicz was sacked last night. Martin Fellowes, who is currently the head development coach at the club and also on the staff with Scotland's under-19 squad, will step up to lead the team for the remainder of the season on an interim basis.
It marks quite a remarkable journey for Martin, who has been with the club for the past 10 years and started out as the club's kitman, experiencing their Lowland League title wins in 2016/17 and 2018/19 and the club's famous match with Celtic in the Scottish Cup in 2016.
While it may sound like a storyline from the hit Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso, Fellowes has been working tirlessly on his coaching badges for the last few years.
He now holds a UEFA B coaching licence and is in the process of doing his UEFA A licence. Fellowes has also been working closely with ex-Kilby boss Billy Stark in the Scotland under-19 setup.
