From kitman to manager: East Kilbride FC appoint interim boss

East Kilbride FC have appointed their former kitman as their interim manager after Kevin Rutkiewicz was sacked last night.

Martin Fellowes, who is currently the head development coach at the club and also on the staff with Scotland's under-19 squad, will step up to lead the team for the remainder of the season on an interim basis.

It marks quite a remarkable journey for Martin, who has been with the club for the past 10 years and started out as the club's kitman, experiencing their Lowland League title wins in 2016/17 and 2018/19 and the club's famous match with Celtic in the Scottish Cup in 2016.

The Lowland League side had their sights set on the title and promotion to the SPFL at the start of the season, but sit seventh in the table and 15 points off leaders Spartans, having been eight points clear of them earlier in the campaign.

A statement from East Kilbride FC read: "East Kilbride Football Club welcome Development Head Coach, Martin Fellowes, to take over on an Interim basis - for the remainder of the season. He will be assisted by Mark McKenna, with Hugh O'Neill as Goalkeeping Coach.

"Martin Fellowes - currently with the Scotland U19's Squad, has been forever present at K-Park for ten years, will take over when he returns from International Duty, on Sunday.

"Once again, The Club would like to thank
