Erik ten Hag told what sets him apart from previous Manchester United managers

Juan Sebastian Veron believes Erik ten Hag's 'clear vision' sets him apart from Sir Alex Ferguson's previous successors at Manchester United.

Ten Hag enjoyed a brilliant first season in charge at Old Trafford, winning the Carabao Cup in February - a first trophy in six years - and secured a place in next season's Champions League with a third-place finish.

The Dutchman was able to implement his playing style instantly, helped by a number of shrewd arrivals last summer. Last month marked 10 years since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, a decade in which seven managers had come and gone before Ten Hag's arrival.

And Veron, who played for United between 2001 and 2003, believes the Dutchman stands above the rest. "After Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, and the last of the generation of Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Neville, Keane, etcetera all left the club, they have found it very difficult to consistently deliver results, performances and a good team," Veron told Gambling Zone.
