Premier League official Sam Barrott has been appointed as the referee for Manchester United's home clash with Brentford on Saturday despite being responsible for a few high profile errors already this season.
Barrott was the man in the middle back in August when he incorrectly adjudged that Will Hughes had fouled a Brentford player prior to Eberechi Eze scoring a quick free kick for Crystal Palace.
Due to the timing of his whistle, VAR was unable to intervene as the ball had not yet crossed the line so the on-field decision was maintained.
Eze later told Sky Sports that Barrott had apologised to him for the mistake. Fast forward to September and Barrott found himself in hot water again following Arsenal's clash with Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.
