Drivers facing long queues on M60 following incident with 'debris' on road

Drivers are facing delays on part of the M60 this morning following an incident near Prestwich. Highways workers have been on the scene at junction 17, for Prestwich and Whitefield, after debris was left on the road.

A collision involving a lorry has been reported at the scene, according to Inrix. The lorry is understood to have been moved from the carriageway.

There are currently long delays approaching junction 17 in both directions. Traffic is tailing back to junction 13 at Worsley on the clockwise carriageway. Queues have been forming approaching the M60 on the M62 westbound, near Middleton, and the M61 southbound from Farnworth. This is a live event.
