Dartford boss Alan Dowson holding his nerve before their transfer deadline

Dartford manager Alan Dowson is holding his nerve ahead of this week’s transfer deadline. Dowson hasn’t ruled out adding to his squad and has targets in mind.

But he’s happy to crack on with their National League South promotion push with what he has if they cannot get a deal over the line before the deadline for registering new players for National League outfits today. “You have to hold your nerve,” he said. “We’re in for four or five players, and we know we won’t get all four or five.

But we might get one or two. “We’ll attack a list of players but other teams are probably attacking similar lists. "But we’re battling near the top and can say ‘Come and get us promotion’. “We’re looking to add another one or two but, after Thursday, we will just crack on.” Darts have recently signed striker Harvey Bradbury who has joined on loan until the end of the season from Dorchester.

He scored on his debut off the bench in a win against Farnborough before Saturday’s trip to Concord was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
