Crystal Palace could pull off a ‘fantastic signing’ in the shape of Watford winger Ismaila Sarr this summer, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay. The Eagles have been heavily linked with a move for the talented 24-year-old in recent days as Patrick Vieira continues to overhaul his first-team squad following an impressive opening 12 months at the helm.
A recent report from the Evening Standard claimed that Palace have ‘expressed an interest’ in signing Sarr and that Watford are braced for a formal offer from them before September’s deadline.
The Hornets stumped up £30 million to sign the Senegal international from Rennes back in 2019, and it’s claimed that they will not accept less than that to sanction his sale.
That figure would make Sarr Palace’s record-signing and it could prove a stumbling block for them, but add-ons and future clauses could help Vieira’s charges meet his valuation.
