Chelsea are ‘still negotiating’ and ‘hoping for a compromise’ as Thomas Tuchel doubles down in his efforts to lure Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Stamford Bridge, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs. The west Londoners have spent more than £180million since the transfer window reopened for business, but head coach Tuchel could still add further reinforcements ahead of the September 1 deadline.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea have submitted a proposal to sign Aubameyang from La Liga giants Barcelona. The report suggests the Blues have launched a £15million bid which would also see left-back Marcos Alonso, who has already made it clear that he wants to join the Nou Camp outfit, head in the opposite direction.
It is understood that Chelsea are optimistic that Aubameyang will be on their books by the time the transfer window slams shut.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the 33-year-old has agreed personal terms with Tuchel’s side and talks between his representatives and Barcelona were pencilled in for last Friday.
