Chelsea move for £200k-a-week striker 'would not be surprise' at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have set their sights on signing Tottenham Hotspur marksman Harry Kane and the interest from Stamford Bridge does not come as a shock, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay. Graham Potter, who was appointed as the Blues’ head coach following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel earlier this month, will be given the opportunity to bolster his squad for the first time when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Potter is an admirer of Kane and wants to negotiate terms which would see the striker make the move from Tottenham.

The report suggests the new Chelsea boss is prepared to offer Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on a season-long loan with Inter Milan, to the north Londoners in a player-plus-cash swap deal.

Kane has entered the final two years of his £200,000-per-week contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leading to uncertainty over where his long-term future lies.
