Celtic Champions League travel guide as Madrid beckons again while Rome and Rotterdam offer glamour trips

dailyrecord.co.uk

Celtic are back in the big time of the Champions League and some glamour destinations await excited punters. Last year's competition saw a return to group stage football for the first time in five years, with big showdowns against then champions Real Madrid providing the backdrop for scintillating European nights in Glasgow and abroad.

And while Brendan Rodgers will hope to sprinkle the magic dust over Parkhead again this time around, the Irishman wants to make a serious go of it and put progression to the knockouts at the forefront of his squad's mind.

The glamour adventure will come against Atletico Madrid as another visit to the Spanish capital is on the offing for tapas and good times.

Dutch champions Feyenoord, who were in Pot 1, will provide a tough test while Lazio are a team Celtic know all too well after Neil Lennon's side produced two stunning results against the Italians in Europa League competition in 2019.
