Canada's Cody Fournie is back atop the Paralympic podium. Fournie, the 35-year-old from Victoria, won the men's T51 100 metres in a Paralympic-record time of 19.63 seconds on Friday at the Stade de France.
Belgium's Peter Genyn claimed silver in 20.47 seconds, while Finland's Toni Pisspanen secured bronze at 21.14 seconds. The Canadian Fournie previously won gold in the T51 200m. Across all sports, Canada now owns 23 podium appearances — two more than its output at Tokyo 2020. Fournier earned a silver medal in the 100 metres at this year's world championship in Kobe, Japan.
