A British teen has died tragically after consuming pizza and dessert in Rome due to a peanut allergy. The 14 year old, referred to as Skyler by Italian media, was vacationing with her family when the incident occurred.

The UK family were on a week-long trip to the historic city and were staying in the Gianicolense area, reports the Mirror. Last Thursday, Skyler and her family opted for pizza during their first dinner in Rome at a restaurant, situated near their B&B.

Tragically, 15 minutes after eating, the teen began experiencing severe allergic reactions, including throat constriction, trouble breathing, pounding heart, chills, and body tremors.

Her parents sought to soothe her and requested assistance from their B&B staff who called emergency services. However, upon arrival, paramedics discovered Skyler unconscious.
