BREAKING: Serious incident on street with air ambulance on scene - latest updates

A road has been closed in Wigan this afternoon after reports of a serious crash. Emergency services raced to Bolton Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield at around 1pm on Tuesday (September 5).

Eyewitnesses report seeing an air ambulance land nearby, as medics attend the scene. Police, fire crews, and paramedics can be seen on Bolton Road, which is closed in both directions from Wigan Road to Bryn Road South. We are still waiting on a statement from GMP on the exact nature of the incident. Eyewitnesses report seeing a bike on the ground inside the scene, as well as a dented vehicle.
