Traffic has been stopped on the M60 following a police incident this evening. All lanes have been shut on the anti-clockwise carriageway, between junction 18 for the M66 and junction 17 for Prestwich, due to the incident.
There are reports of up to six miles of congestion, stretching back to junction 20 of the M60. Drivers are being urged to consider alternative routes. Long delays are building on approach. More information to follow." Greater Manchester Police has been approached for further information.
