Emma Raducanu will lead the Great Britain team in next month’s Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Glasgow. Raducanu is Britain’s highest-ranked female player right now and is currently 68th in the world.
The 19-year-old has struggled for form so far this year and withdrew from her latest WTA event in Romania with a wrist problem.
However, she hopes to be fit in time to compete in Glasgow next month. The Billie Jean King Cup was founded back in 1963 and is the premier international team tournament in women’s tennis.
From 1995 to 2020, the competition was called the Fed Cup before being renamed in honour of King two years ago. The 2022 Finals will see 12 nations compete for the title.
