Ben Mee explains how Brentford stopped Man City striker Erling Haaland this season

Brentford centre-back Ben Mee has admitted that trying to block Erling Haaland's runs was the secret to the Bees keeping him quiet earlier this season.

The Norwegian, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund last season, has been sensational during his debut campaign in England, plundering an incredible 47 goals in just 40 appearances in all competitions.

He scored a first-half brace in Saturday's 3-1 win over Leicester City, taking his tally of Premier League goals this season to 32, meaning he is just two away from equalling Alan Shearer's and Andy Cole's record of 34 in a single season.

The 22-year-old, who will be hoping to help City finish the job when they face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final in Germany on Wednesday night, has scored against all but three Premier League clubs this season, failing to find the net against Brentford, Chelsea and Liverpool so far.
