Arsenal have ‘got the edge’ in the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer, according to journalist Dean Jones. The Belgium international is at the centre of a transfer saga that is showing no signs of ending anytime soon after refusing to sign a new contract at the King Power Stadium.
Tielemans only has 12 months left to run on his existing £120,000-per-week deal and has reportedly been on Arsenal’s radar since January, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
However, GOAL recently revealed that the north London outfit had cooled their interest in the 25-year-old in order to conclude deals for other targets.
So far, Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira have been Mikel Arteta’s only major additions, with Matt Turner and Marquinhos adding some strength in depth to his first-team squad.
