Arsenal have enquired about signing Wolves star Pedro Neto, according to transfer insider Dean Jones. The Gunners made the perfect start to the campaign when they kicked off the new Premier League season with a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace, but Mikel Arteta still wants to add to his five new signings before 1 September.

A Gabriel Martinelli strike, and a late Marc Guehi own goal ensured three points on the opening day for the north London outfit, although Arteta admitted that he’s still hoping to strengthen his squad.

He said: “We are going to try and bring in more players. There are a few things that we have tried but for now it’s time to work with the players we have.” One of the positions that Arteta is targeting is out wide, with Arsenal previously missing out on signing Raphinha, while they’re also keen on signing PSV ace Cody Gakpo.

Another that could be of interest is 22-year-old Neto, who was linked with a £50m move to Manchester United last year, and might be available, with Wolves on the verge of making Valencia forward Goncalo Guedes their second summer addition.
