Arsenal have probably been working on bringing in Pedro Neto for the last three to four weeks, says Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor. It recently emerged that the Wolves winger is a target for the north London club, but Taylor thinks his name has been on their radar for a while.
The Athletic recently reported that Arsenal are in talks to sign Neto before the transfer window closes. Since then, however, the Evening Standard has claimed that the Gunners fear they will be priced out of a move for the 22-year-old, so a deal looks far from certain.
According to the newspaper, Wolves could demand up to £50m from Arsenal, who have already spent a lot of money this summer. The Premier League outfit have splashed out on the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, the former arriving at the Emirates in a £45m deal, and are currently thought to be on UEFA’s watchlist of teams who may be in danger of breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
