Manchester United's Premier League rivals Arsenal may have just shown them how to execute a deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

United are admirers of the 23-year-old midfielder and, as a result, have spent the summer months trying to agree a deal with the Ligue 1 champions to bring the Uruguay international to Old Trafford.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News earlier this week, PSG are open to letting Ugarte move to the Premier League this summer, though Manchester United's ability to sign off a deal is understood to be hinged on the possible departure of Scott McTominay. If United were to complete an initial loan for the Uruguayan, it would benefit United's Profit and Sustainability calculations as any outlay for a permanent deal would come after the Premier League's current financial years end on June 30.
