Argentine Football Association international scouting director Juan Martin Tassi remains confident that Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho will pledge his international future to the 2022 World Cup winners.

The youngster, who has racked up 29 appearances for United this season, was recently included in the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendlies against Panama and Curacao this month.

However, he was forced to pull out after suffering an ankle injury during the Reds' goalless draw with Southampton. It means the 18-year-old, despite previously being included in the Argentina squad, is still waiting to make his senior debut for his country.

As a result it is still possible he could choose to represent Spain - the country he was born and raised in He has played for the Spanish Under-18s.
