Former midfielder Paul Scholes has admitted that Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho reminds him of a younger version of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Garnacho, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, has been United's breakout star this season, producing a series of eye-catching performances.

After playing no part in the club's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, the versatile forward has since made 29 appearances in all competitions this season, winning the trust and support of manager Erik ten Hag.

Including his last-gasp winner at Fulham just prior to the World Cup, the 18-year-old has scored four goals and grabbed five assists this season, meaning he has enjoyed an impressive campaign.
