Zwane says Kaizer Chiefs lacked 'killer instinct' against AmaZulu
Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane was disappointed to have come away from his side's home DStv Premiership clash with AmaZulu with a goalless draw.
Amakhosi should have taken a 23rd minute lead but Dillan Solomons missed from the penalty spot while George Matlou came as close as anyone to scoring in the second half but couldn't direct the ball into an empty net.
The result left Zwane's side languishing in 11th place with just two wins from their opening six league games.
Speaking after the match, the Chiefs boss told SuperSport TV: "I think we didn't have that killer-instinct. Yes, we did create enough chances you know but we were not clinical enough, one.
"I think we started very slow, and I believe if we put them under pressure from the first whistle, we were going to get one.
"Unfortunately, we gave them some time and space on the ball because we knew that they're going to want to play the ball between the two central defenders and look to connect with the front three."
Zwane added: "I think we dealt with it much better today, but we were still opening those gaps for them to play in between. We could have tried to close the space quickly.
"But it's one of those where I feel in this game, we deserve more but it was not to be in terms of taking those goal-scoring opportunities."
Chiefs next face Marumo Gallants away from home next Sunday.
