Youri Tielemans prompts Leicester City response after Brendan Rodgers comments

Leicester City fans have given their thoughts on Brendan Rodgers’ comments on Youri Tielemans following the victory over Norwich City.

The midfielder has been on the end of some criticism over his performances in recent months, especially given the speculation over his future. He will have one year remaining on his current deal when the transfer window opens with a number of clubs said to be interested.

Tielemans was more like himself in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over the Canaries as City moved back to 10th place in the Premier League table. Following the game, manager Brendan Rodgers praised the Belgian’s performance and explained why he remains one of the first names on the teamsheet.

“I thought he was excellent tonight. The problem, because of the gossip and speculation around it, it shines a light on him. For me, he’s still the same guy, his professionalism is first class. That’s why I always play him,” he said .

“He makes passes in the team that not many can make. I thought he worked ever so hard and he fights for the team and that’s the type of person he is. I thought he showed a great commitment to the team, but I can't remember any time he hasn't.”
