Youngsters, players rested and bench importance - How Hull FC could look against Sheffield Eagles

Brett Hodgson has named his strongest available squad for this weekend’s Challenge Cup clash against Sheffield Eagles. are eyeing up a spot in the quarter-finals of the competition and it's clear they won’t be taking the Championship side lightly.

Carlos Tuimavave looks set to make his first appearance of the season after shaking off a hamstring injury, while the head coach could be set to give a couple of rising stars a chance, too. With that in mind Hull Live predicts how FC could line-up this weekend.

Given Hodgson has made one change to his 21-man squad, fans should probably expect changes to be kept to a minimum this weekend. The introduction of Tuimavave into the back line appears obvious and that will likely see Mitieli Vulikijapani, who played so well last weekend, step out onto the wing.

Chris Satae is a prime candidate to drop out given the amount of minutes he has played so far this season. The prop is set to play a pivotal role in the weeks and months ahead and Hodgson won’t get many better opportunities to give him the weekend off.

That move would see Josh Bowden given another chance to impress, while Jack Brown and Brad Fash would also have key roles to play once more.

Jordan Lane is another that could drop out of the fold. The back-rower’s time on the training ground has been limited of late due to the back injury he picked up against Castleford Tigers at the start of the month.

He would no doubt benefit from being rested and such a switch
