Brett Hodgson's honest Hull FC assessment after Huddersfield defeat as he explains Tuimavave and Lane absences

Brett Hodgson was hugely disappointed by his side’s performance against Huddersfield Giants at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Black and Whites lost 24-16 to the Giants as they saw their hopes of winning the Challenge Cup ended for another year.

Hull got over the line on three occasions as Manu Ma’u, Andre Savelio and Darnell McIntosh touched down but it wasn’t enough against the West Yorkshire outfit, who scored through Ricky Leutele, Tui Lolohea and Chris McQueen.

“Laney was on form,” Hodgson admitted. “I felt the other boys in the middle were playing very well and Laney has a couple of things to fix up.

“Carlos is still his calf. It’s one we’re monitoring and trying to find out why it’s having this
