Wrexham AFC fans left gutted by decision to move them 'to make room for corporate seats'

Several Wrexham AFC fans have been left gutted after being told they will have to move seats next season amid reports a section of the Racecourse Ground will be earmarked for "corporate seating".

Some long-standing season ticket holders in the PG6 section in the middle of the Macron Stand have been unable to renew their season tickets in that area of the ground.

Existing season ticket holders from the 2021/22 season have an exclusive priority window to renew their seat for the 2022/23 season up until 5pm on Wednesday, April 13.

Joe Edwards has had a season ticket in the section for 14 years. He said: "I went into the club shop this morning after receiving an email from the club and was told our rows were being converted to corporate seating.

"The only alternative seating is either the corner of the Macron Stand and likewise in the Wrexham Lager Stand. I just don’t understand why they don’t wait until the new Kop is done as there will be enough room for people to move from the Macron Stand to the Kop then anyway."

On the online supporters forum Red Passion, user El Jonez said: "Sadly they have chosen to not consult with any of the affected fans and we are all totally in the dark on where we will be sitting next season."

Some fans took a different view however, with fellow Red Passion user PeteRed saying: "We have to accept realism. I guess my point is, it's all part of the progress the club is making. I can genuinely say if I was told me and my son had to move from our present seats I'd probably be miffed but would accept it."
