Woman pretended she'd given birth to ex's baby in vile campaign that 'destroyed his family'

A woman pretended she had given birth to her ex-boyfriend's baby following a bitter breakup. Stephanie Mahoney subjected her former partner and his mum to a 'campaign of harassment' in the aftermath of their split, a court heard.

She was said to have 'made his life hell' by bombarding them with a string of vile messages on Facebook and Instagram, 'lying about being pregnant', and posting pictures of aborted foetuses online while alleging he had 'bullied' her into having a termination, a judge was told.

Liverpool Crown Court heard on Wednesday the 32-year-old had been in a relationship with her victim, who isn't being named, between July 2020 and July 2021. Simon Leong, prosecuting, described how Mahoney, of Long Lane in Wavertree, 'claimed she was pregnant with his child, however that did not salvage the relationship'.
