Woman, 31, arrested after £550 worth of shopping stolen from M&S

A woman has been arrested after around £550 worth of shopping was stolen from an M&S in Bolton.

Police were called to a report of theft at the store in the Middlebrook Retail Park yesterday (Wednesday). Security workers also assisted officers.

The 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene. She was taken into custody to be questioned on suspicion of theft.

A post on the GMP Bolton West Facebook page last night said: "#ARREST - Officers from the #Horwich neighbourhood team have today arrested a 31 year old female on suspicion of theft. The incident occurred at M&S at Middlebrook retail park where the female is alleged to have stolen property to the value of £550.

"Officers were assisted by security officers from the Middlebrook retail park. The female is in custody and will be interviewed about the incident.

"The investigation is ongoing and we will provide an update in due course."
