Wolves have 'moved on' from £25.2m Nuno Espirito signing

Adama Traore might have played his last game for Wolves, with both parties moving on from each other, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The £25.2m-rated attacker joined Barcelona on loan in January but will return to Molineux at the end of the season.

Despite contributing to just one goal in 20 Premier League appearances for Wolves this term, the flying winger made an excellent start to life at the Nou Camp.

Having registered an assist in his first two La Liga outings, Traore played a key part in Barcelona’s Europa League last 32 victory over Napoli, setting up goals for Jordi Alba and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the Spanish giants reached the last 16 of the competition.

Traore’s bright start saw him establish himself as a regular under Xavi’s guidance, but a dip in form of late has seen him drop to the bench.

It’s been almost two months since the Spain international was picked from the off by the legendary Barcelona midfielder, while Traore played just 29 minutes as Xavi’s side crashed out of the Europa League last Thursday.

Barca have an option to buy the 26-year-old this summer, although having dropped off in form, it’s unclear whether the Nou Camp outfit will sign him permanently.

Regardless, O’Rourke doesn’t believe that Traore has much of a future at Wolves either, especially with just 12 months remaining on his Molineux contract.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think both parties have moved on from each other. Adama Traore wanted to leave, he had options in January, but he decided to go back to Barcelona.

“He had a really good start, but he’s now found himself on the bench under Xavi, and I think Wolves have moved on from him as well.”
