Wolves face 'big blow' over 199-game star set to leave Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Bruno Lage would suffer a ‘big blow’ if Romain Saiss leaves Molineux at the end of the season, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Saiss has featured heavily since Lage’s appointment as Nuno Espirito Santo’s successor last summer, but there are question marks over the central defender’s future.

Moroccan media outlet Hespress have revealed Saiss has become a target for La Liga title chasers Sevilla thanks to his impressive performances for Wolves.

However, Saiss’ departure is not a certainty as The Athletic reporter Tim Spiers has suggested he is expecting Wolves to open negotiations over a new deal despite the defender rejecting a fresh proposal last summer.

The journalist feels the Moroccan sealing an exit from Molineux would see Lage lose one of his most dependable options heading into his second season at the helm.

O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “It would be a big blow to lose
