Wolves defender makes Manchester United admission after VAR controversy

Max Kilman felt Wolves should have taken something from Old Trafford after an impressive performance against Manchester United.

Gary O'Neil's new side created opportunities on Monday night but were unable to take their chances. It proved costly when Raphael Varane headed in the winner for United.

Despite the disappointment in defeat, Kilman was pleased with the performance and will take positives from that game. He also felt Wolves should've been awarded for Andre Onana's challenge in stoppage time.

“It was a crazy game, end-to-end stuff, and we had a lot of chances in the second half, so I thought we would have scored," he said. "We looked like a great side, considering we had four days with the new manager.

"Credit to everyone, we stuck to the game plan and worked really hard. We had a lot of chances, which at Old Trafford isn’t easy, and it’s something to build on.

"They were good opportunities, not half chances. Coming to Old Trafford is very difficult, against a top Man United side, so we’ve got to build and be ready for Saturday.

“I was right next to it and saw some clips after and I thought it was a penalty. Some decisions don’t go your way, but you need to look forward to the next game. The referees make their decisions and we have to respect that.”
