Raphael Varane 'makes decision on Manchester United future'

Manchester United centre-back Raphael Varane has reportedly chosen to stay at Old Trafford, at least for the time being, amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old bagged the all-important winner for his team on Monday night when the Reds beat Wolves 1-0 at the Theatre of Dreams. Varane has become a firm favourite under Erik ten Hag and is first choice alongside Lisandro Martinez.

According to Sports Zone, Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad have shown an interest in Varane. The United defender's former France teammates Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante have both made the switch to the Middle East and it is claimed they have attempted to persuade the centre-back to join them.

However, these attempts have been pushed back by Varane as the report claims the defender wishes to play in Europe for at least one more season. Varane has two years left on his current deal at the Theatre of Dreams.

The transfer window is in full swing and United have got their hands on three players well in advance of the September 1 deadline, with Rasmus Hojlund joining Mason Mount and Andre Onana at Old Trafford.

A goalkeeper, a midfielder and a striker were Erik ten Hag's priorities heading into the summer window, but that doesn't mean their business ends here, with further incomings and outgoings still on the cards..
