Wishaw are in a 'false position' and can beat relegation, insists boss
David Dunn insists Wishaw are still in a false position and can beat relegation from the West of Scotland Second Division.
Wishaw bagged a vital 2-0 win over Glasgow University on Saturday in a reaction to last weekend’s 5-0 hammering by Ardeer Thistle.
That leaves Wishaw third bottom and in the relegation zone, but a point behind Ardeer with three games in hand.
Dunn was happy with the win, and said: “It was a deserved win. We got the reaction I was looking for, there were a few things said during the week because that wasn’t acceptable. We know we’ve let ourselves down recently.
“I still believe we’re in a false position and should be a lot higher.
“The league table doesn’t lie, and we’ve put ourselves into a situation that we didn’t want to be in. We need to win games to stay in the division, and Saturday was a great start.
“When you see results round about us, it was a ‘must-win’, and that has dragged a few teams back into it.
“We have games in hand, and that means nothing in football – I’d rather have the points on the board, but I’m a lot more positive this week.”
Wishaw travel to ninth-placed Kilsyth Rangers on Saturday, and Dunn said: “We’ll go in and know ourselves it’s a tough game, but they’re all tough for us now.
“We need to prepare the boys, get a game-plan ready and be positive.”
