Willie Collum ready for Celtic vs Rangers player 'fight' as ref eviscerated over derby quirk

Referee Willie Collum looked ready to "fight" players during Celtic's crucial derby day victory over Rangers.

That is according to Ibrox hero Kenny Miller who called the man in the middle out over how he was dealing with the players during the 2-1 win for Brendan Rodgers' men. It was an eventful afternoon for the whistler as he was called to the pitch-side monitor by the VAR team to review John Lundstram's heavy challenge on Alistair Johnston after initially dishing out a yellow card to the midfielder. That would be ramped up to a red card following a review.

He also pointed to the penalty spot after Celtic star Matt O'Riley was clipped by Mohamed Diomande in the box - and after being sent to review the flashpoint by VAR, he stuck with the on-field decision. O'Riley would step up to take the spot kick, but Jack Butland would deny the midfielder from 12-yards.

However, it wasn't the decisions that saw Miller call out Collum on Sky Sports commentary. Irked Miller reached his boiling point over how the man in the middle was addressing players from both sides.

Following a first-half foul by Rangers star Diomande, the former Hoops and Gers frontman quizzed: "Why is Willie Collum always so angry when he is talking to players, can he not just talk to them? It is incredible, it's as if he wants to fight the players. You are allowed to just talk."
