Why Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray is impressed with Nathan Bishop's background as Man United player seals move

Nathan Bishop became the latest Manchester United player to join Sunderland today and manager Tony Mowbray has already detailed his admiration for the Reds' academy.

The Black Cats have signed Bishop on a permanent deal, with the goalkeeper pictured signing his contract at the Academy of Light on Wednesday morning. He has signed a three-year-year deal with the Championship club and is expected to provide competition for current first-choice Anthony Patterson.

The young winger joined Sunderland on loan last season and was one of the Championship's standout performers, with 14 goals and three assists in 39 appearances.
