Dele Alli in the stands

Everton midfielder Dele Alli was in the directors' box at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, invited as a guest of James Maddison for the first home game at his new club. Having spent seven seasons in north London developing into one of England's most promising young talents, he remains a much-loved figure among the Spurs fanbase.

More recently, Alli spoke to Gary Neville about his tough childhood and addiction to sleeping tablets in an immensely courageous interview. The former England star looked to be enjoying himself on the night as Tottenham rolled back the years with a brilliant performance, and United fans will join the rest of the footballing world in wishing Alli all the best.

Eriksen welcomed back

Another former player was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, albeit Christian Eriksen returned as an enemy for the evening as he donned the red shirt. The Danish international started on the bench but was sent to warm up early doors when Bruno Fernandes went down injured.

Eriksen trotted down the sideline to a rapturous applause from the home crowd, who fondly remember his elegance in the No.10 role, and the midfielder acknowledged the supporters while he warmed up.
