Why Manchester United were part of Gianluigi Buffon's 'biggest regret' as legend confirms retirement
Gianluigi Buffon confirmed his retirement on Wednesday.
The 45-year-old posted a video on his social media compiling countless moments during his 28-year career, alongside the words: "That's all folks! You gave me everything. I gave you everything. We did it together." He played more than 1000 games during his time at the top of professional football.
Buffon's incredible career was littered with highs, including the 2006 World Cup triumph with Italy and 10 Serie A titles with Juventus. However his biggest regret came while at PSG, when his side threw away a brilliant chance to progress in the Champions League against Manchester United in 2019.

Marcus Rashford struck the penalty beyond the experienced Buffon to send the Reds into the next round and dump PSG out early once again - an evening legendary Italian goalkeeper Buffon will never forget.
