Erik ten Hag can raise £74m for Manchester United’s fourth summer transfer following Rasmus Hojlund arrival

Erik ten Hag will welcome his third major signing to Manchester United this week once the finer details are complete on Rasmus Hojlund's £72million arrival from Atalanta.

The 20-year-old arrived in the UK at around 4.15pm on Tuesday evening, and despite a slight delay, is expected to be announced as a Red by the weekend - potentially ahead of Saturday's home friendly against RC Lens. United will pay an initial £64m for their man, with another £8m inserted into the deal through add-ons.

When Hojlund's move is eventually confirmed, he will become the third major signing this summer with Ten Hag managing to plug the major holes in his squad before the season kicks off a week on Monday. Mason Mount was first through the door last month, with goalkeeper Andre Onana not far behind.

That leaves a shortfall of around £23m, but with Ten Hag admitting on Monday that he is open to more arrivals, the Dutchman will need to cover that and some.

Dean Henderson is the most obvious money maker in the current squad and remains convinced he will join Forest permanently this summer. The 26-year-old enjoyed a good loan spell at the City Ground
