Who will win Rangers vs Celtic? Our writers make their predictions for first meeting of the season

The Scottish Premiership's big two face off for the first time this season but neither go into it firing on all cylinders.

Rangers kicked off their campaign with a defeat at Kilmarnock and while they've won both of their league games. Celtic started with a victory over Ross County, then beat Aberdeen, but were suffered the same fate as their rivals in Ayrshire on Viaplay Cup duty before being held at home by St Johnstone last week.

So Sunday's clash at Ibrox represents a chance for both to make up for early season slips. Once again, there will be no aways fans as the ticket spat between the clubs goes on. There could be a trio of Hoops debutants after Brendan Rodgers beefed up his sqaud during the final week of the window. Luis Palma - previously linked with Rangers - penned a five-year deal while Liverpool's Nat Phillips is on loan from Liverpool until January. Benfica midfielder Paulo Bernardo is in Glasgow until the summer with an option to buy.

Michael Beale's boys will still be smarting from their midweek mauling in Eindhoven. But as always, this is the "perfect game to bounce back in" and a second successive derby win for the Light Blues would lift the mood considerably in Govan.

The Record Sport team have seen countless versions of this particular fixture. They predict how it;s going to pan out.

Neither side is heading into the fixture in the best of form. Home advantage is a big help to Rangers, but Celtic are unlikely to go three domestic games without a goal and both teams would probably take a point.

Rangers 1 Celtic 1

Neither team is in great form but with the backing of the home crowd and with Celtic likely to be fielding a couple of debutants, I can Rangers just edging a tight contest.

Rangers 2
