Who takes blame for Celtic problems as Rodgers, Lawwell and Desmond all pulled in front of Monday Jury

KEITH JACKSON:Brendan Rodgers admits himself that the buck stops at the manager’s door. Celtic’s recruitment in the summer was woeful but, even so, Rodgers has enough quality in his dressing room to keep his side at the top of the pile. Something is not quite clicking between the boss and his players.

ANDY NEWPORT: Brendan Rodgers will carry the can if this current malaise ends up costing the club trophies but beyond that it will fall to Dermot Desmond to respond. Most of the fans’ complaints are the same ones they were making two years ago. Ange Postecoglou’s magnificent leadership masked them while he was romping to title after title but once again Celtic’s shortcomings are clear for all to see.

DAVID McCARTHY: It’s a collective. The recruitment in the summer was miles off, with players coming in who Brendan Rodgers clearly doesn’t trust to play in the first team. The players themselves need to up their game and it’s the manager’s job to get it right and too often this term Celtic have looked like a team going through the motions.

MICHAEL GANNON: It’s a multilevel malfunction at the moment. The summer signing strategy was a stinker, and everyone carries the can. The club spent £20m to go backwards.

KEITH: They certainly should do. Steven Naismith has the third best squad in the top flight so failure to nail down that position would not reflect well on the manager.

ANDY: Yes. It’s not been the easiest of rides for Steven Naismith at Tynecastle but he seems to be learning from his mistakes and Hearts should only gather momentum from here.

DAVID: They’re probably favourites but not certainties. They’ve got big players coming back and if they keep Lawrence Shankland they should finish third.

MICHAEL: Hearts should coast
