Celtic transfer news bulletin as Scott McKenna given 'green light' for move and Nicolas Kuhn told there's big things to come

Nottingham Forest are willing to listen to any and all offers for Scott McKenna with the defender reportedly given the green light to leave this month.

Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for defensive reinforcements to shore up at the back for the second half of the season. Nat Phillips has quietly returned to Liverpool after an underwhelming short-term loan while reports are rife that Gustaf Lagerbielke could already be on the way out.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales are the established starting pairing but none of the options behind them have fully convinced Rodgers to this point and reports indicate Scotland defender McKenna could be the solution. It's been claimed the Hoops have made tentative enquiries about his availability, and the latest down south suggests the response from Forest is likely to have been positive. Pete O'Rourke of Football Insider claims Forest are ready to part with them and are all ears for offers with McKenna's contract set to expire in six months.

The Hoops are also believed to be keen to strengthen at left-back with Tiago Araujo a long-term target while on Wednesday it was claimed Liverpool had rejected approaches from both the Hoops and Rangers for Owen Beck. Beck was one of Dundee's key players in the first half of the season but now heads back down south to cover for Andy Robertson at Anfield.

Elsewhere it appears there's been a bit of movement on Nicolas Kuhn...though perhaps not in the direction Celtic would want it. The 24-year-old has been tipped as an option up front and has impressed for Rapid Vienna with three goals and seven assists this season. It's expected he'll cost around £2m, but Fan.at in Austria reckon he might cost more as he is 'only starting' to show his true
