Where Man United's 2018 America tour squad members are now with only six remaining at the club

The last time Manchester United crossed the Atlantic for a summer tour Jose Mourinho was in charge and Fred was a signature summer arrival.

Mourinho was fresh off the 2017/18 season, where he secured a second-placed finish which he later labelled one of the biggest achievements of his career.

Fred arrived for £47million but he was one of many key names missing from United's summer tour in the wake of the World Cup, including Marcus Rashford, David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku. This meant a host of young players were given their first taste of travelling with the first team as Mourinho sought to fill out his squad for the series of matches taking place in North America.

But United struggled on the pitch, perhaps offering a glimpse into how Mourinho's tenure was unravelling. Three successive draws against Club America, San Jose Earthquakes and AC Milan were underwhelming, before a 4-1 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool in front of over 100,000 fans at Michigan Stadium. Although, they did round off the tour with a win against European Champions Real Madrid in Miami.

Mourinho was axed within a few months and we've taken a look at the squad that travelled to the US.
