What Youri Tielemans said about his future amid Manchester United transfer links

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans vowed to make a decision on his future this summer amid ongoing links connecting him with a move to Manchester United.

According to a report by The Times, the central midfielder, who will have grand ambitions of representing Belgium at the World Cup later this year, is of 'interest' to United manager Erik ten Hag. The Reds are keen to strengthen their midfield options this summer and have been linked with a plethora of names in recent months.

United are very close to securing their first midfield signing of the summer in the shape of Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong, for whom they have agreed a transfer fee for, as revealed by the Manchester Evening News on Wednesday. However, it is claimed that the Reds will not stop there with their midfield recruitment drive, with the club now looking elsewhere for further additions.

Tielemans, who is out-of-contract at Leicester in a year's time, is someone that was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford towards the end of last season, but Ten Hag's reported interest in him has only just come to light. Nevertheless, Tielemans, who turned 25 in early May, has already outlined that he will make a decision on his future this summer, but made it clear that he is happy at the King Power Stadium.

"I try not to think about it much and focus on my own performance, it works well," Tielemans told Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg earlier this year. "But it's actually amazing how much they talk about my future. Every day they name a different club.
