The Magpies are expected to make another rather large investment in signing some new players in summer and it seems a deal may have already been agreed in principle to turn Matt Targett’s loan move from Aston Villa a permanent one.

The 26 year old first came through the Southampton Academy where he was named Young Player of the Season in 2015. After being loaned to Fulham, Targett re-joined Southampton before making the move to Aston Villa.
