What new Liverpool multi-million pound deal could mean for Manchester United

Manchester United may be joined by one of their biggest rivals in wearing kits manufactured by Adidas next season.

United have been with the German sportswear company since the 2015/16 season, replacing Nike in the process. It was confirmed in July 2023 that the Reds had agreed a new 10-year deal with Adidas that marked a world record.

As part of the deal, United will receive a total of £900million with £90million per year. Now it seems that the Reds could be joined by Liverpool in wearing Adidas kits next season.

Reports in recent days have speculated that Liverpool could switch from Nike to Adidas for next season. The Merseyside club's current deal with Nike expires at the end of the season, and the Liverpool Echo have reported that the Anfield hierarchy have refused to comment on the possibility of switching kit manufacturers for the 2025/26 campaign.

Should the reports prove to be accurate, United would be joined by yet another of their Premier League rivals in wearing Adidas. Arsenal also have the German sportswear company manufacturing their kits, with reports suggesting the Gunners will earn £75million per year across eight seasons.

It was also reported that Liverpool receive £35million per year from Nike as part of their current deal, although through merchandising and their partnership the figure could increase to £60million. As a result, it should be no surprise to see the Anfield club looking to see if they can increase their revenue through the kit deal if possible.
