Manchester United can correct Erling Haaland transfer mistake with Champions League scouting plan

Manchester United are reportedly interested in three RB Salzburg players.

The Austrian side, whom Erling Haaland used to play, are renowned for their development of young prospects. And, according to Fussball, United are said to be among a host of elite European clubs monitoring the situation of the Austrian side’s academy players.

The German outlet also suggested that youngster Samson Baidoo is thought to be on United’s radar as they seek yet another promising young defender to add to the summer signing of Leny Yoro, who is currently sidelined with injury. The Austrian-born centre-back has already appeared for the national side and is stalwart at the heart of Die Roten Bullen’s defence.

In the attacking thirds, Oscar Gloukh is reportedly being monitored by Erik ten Hag’s side after several encouraging performances under former Liverpool coach Pepijn Lijnders so far this season.

The progressive midfielder has registered three goals and two assists in four Austrian Bundesliga appearances so far this term, which adds to his 18-goal involvements last season. The 20-year-old has already featured 12 times for Israel at senior international level. I would be wise to assume the player would be seen as a long-term replacement for United skipper Bruno Fernandes, who recently turned 30, but still looks to have a few seasons left at the elite level.
