What Marcus Rashford did at the end of Manchester United's pre-season friendly win over Arsenal

Manchester United got their pre-season tour of the USA off to a winning start with victory over Premier League rivals Arsenal.

United have headed Stateside to continue their preparations ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. It will be Erik ten Hag's second in charge of the Reds as the Dutchman seeks to take United back to the top.

The Reds beat the Gunners at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The friendly was played in front of 82,262 people, which is a stadium soccer record crowd in the USA.

Jadon Sancho took advantage of a huge error from Gabriel to fire United ahead. Bruno Fernandes' strike then squirmed past Aaron Ramsdale, who will feel he should've done better, to make it two.

Arsenal couldn't find a route back into the match as United saw out the victory and recorded another clean sheet in pre-season. Erik ten Hag's men are yet to concede after beating Leeds United, Lyon and now the Gunners to nil.

United's top scorer last season Rashford, fresh from signing a new five-year contract to commit his future to the Reds, played his part in the encounter. He was a substitute and came off the bench in the victory.

The Reds are of course wearing their new home kit in the pre-season tour. Rashford helped to make it a very memorable day for one fan who came to the MetLife Stadium.

Upon the end of the encounter, Rashford took his shirt off and gave it to a young fan in the crowd. He was holding a sign which read 'Rashford you're my hero' and it clearly caught the United number 10's eye as he rewarded the youngster.
