'What I want to do' - Dani Olmo makes release clause admission to put Man United and City on alert

Spain forward Dani Olmo has urged clubs to trigger his release clause in the next eight days, before warning them that they will 'have to fight' for his signature if they don't.

Olmo is a reported target of both Manchester United and Manchester City this summer, with City searching for alternative options to Kevin De Bruyne should he leave for Saudi Arabia, and United looking for quality that will push Erik Ten Hag's men up the table.

The RB Leipzig man is shining at Euro 2024, scoring three goals on Spain's run to the final, and is the subject of plenty of speculation over where he could move to this summer. Naturally, both Manchester clubs are high on the list of suitors being mentioned in both Spain and Germany.

Speaking ahead of the Euro 2024 final, he told Cadena SER that he 'knows what he wants to do' with his future, but reaffirmed his commitment to Leipzig after three-and-a-half years at the Red Bull Arena.

"My people know what I want to do... I have too much to do with the Euros to be thinking about other things," he said. "I have a contract with Leipzig and we have a very good relationship. There will be no problem."

Confirming the reported existence of a release clause, expiring on July 20, worth €60m (£50.5m), Olmo warned any club considering a move that they will have to pay more when the clause is no longer active.

"My 60 million clause until July 20? You know what you have to do," he said. "If not, you'll have to fight a little later."
