Were Rangers right to sack Michael Beale and where did it all go wrong for axed boss? Monday Jury

Keith Jackson: The reality is there was no way back for Beale after Saturday. He lost the fans and the dressing room. It was only going to end one way.

David McCarthy: It is early in the season and there is no doubt Beale had to deal with a horrendous injury list. But the performances were simply not good enough and there was no sign of any improvement. The board had no choice.

Craig Swan: It was hard to see a way back for Beale given the fans turned on him. Rangers had to make a change.

Michael Gannon: It was inevitable. Beale was one bad one away from the bullet and it came at the weekend. The supporters had completely lost faith and it looked like the team had too.

KEITH: His summer recruitment drive was a disastrous downgrade, leaving the manager with too many attacking options and none of them better than what was there in the first place. Beale has to carry the can for that.

DAVID: Recruitment. He allowed players like Kent, Morelos, Kamara, Arfield, Hagi (on loan) to leave the building and replaced them with players who aren't as good. And spent plenty on them. That's why he's gone.

CRAIG: An inability to win big games against Celtic. When it's counted, he's failed.

MICHAEL: There’s no doubt Beale’s was hampered by injuries. But show us a manager who hasn’t. The signings have been poor and there remains a soft underbelly in this Gers side that gets exposed in the games that matter.

KEITH: Rangers might be in crisis but they should still be able to win in Cyprus. Celtic have to beat Lazio to have any chance of staying alive in the Champions League but that's a big ask. Aberdeen also have a must win match at home to HJK and that shouldn't be beyond them.
